Pennywise IT Chapter 2
Pennywise has been on more boxes than almost any horror character. Everyone is working from the same elements, so the problem was never what to show — it was where to put it.
The face is scaled up past the edge of the box. A giant close-up wrapping across three panels crops the features so hard that no single panel holds a whole face — you assemble it by turning the box. Filling the frame that far past comfortable is where the dread comes from; a portrait that fits is a portrait you can look away from.
The balloon prints onto the clear sleeve with no white behind it, so the red stays translucent and the face reads faintly through it. The two layers sit at real distance from each other — the balloon in front, the face behind, separated by the thickness of the sleeve. Lift the sleeve and the balloon rises, exactly as it does on screen, and the face comes clear as it goes.
