Venompool

Since the licensor supplied little beyond the figure itself, the graphic direction was open, so I built two versions.
The first is loud: heavy colour clash and typography carrying the impact, worked up from the product photography with drawing and effects until it reads as artwork rather than a photograph on a box.
The second goes the other way — darker palette, different shots, weight given to what Venompool actually is instead of how bright he can be made to look.
The second was chosen, and it earned a finish the first would not have. Foaming UV over the black skin areas, raised so the symbiote has real texture under the hand. The character is defined by a surface; printing it flat would have described that surface, and raising it lets the box carry it.
